Step 2 – Assessing the needs of the staff

Depending on what type of business you have will determine how simply or how involved this part of the process is. It’s a really good opportunity to step back and look at what you are doing now and what could be changed with a new fit out and new office furniture.

This involves talking to staff members looking at how they operate in their existing environment and discovering what’s good and bad about how they operate in their workspace. This will involve looking at the ergonomic aspect of their workspace i.e. seated position when keying, movement required when filing, interaction required with other staff members and support requirements when working with clients.
